Mukhwas (pronounced as mukhvaas) is a blend of roasted seeds like fennel seeds, carom seeds, sesame seeds, etc… It can be made with a combination of different kind of seeds, nuts, and spices. It is usually eaten after meals as a mouth freshener. Thoroughly chewing a spoonful of this Mukhwas (blend of roasted seeds) after a meal helps you with digestion. Relieves you from gas, acidity, bloating, and other digestive disorders.

This is vegan, nuts free, and gluten free recipe. For this recipe we have used fennel seeds, carom seeds, and sesame seeds. But you can use any combination of the above mentioned seeds or just fennel seeds or just carom seeds and follow the rest of the recipe.

Fennel seeds aids the digestion. It helps in relaxing the muscles of gastrointestinal system. Fennel seeds also reduce gas, bloating, and stomach cramps.

Carom seeds are also used as household remedy for digestive problems. According to Healthline.com, “Carom seeds may help in combating peptic ulcers.” They also help in relieving digestive issues like gas, acidity, and bloating.

Sesame seeds are known to help with digestion, by facilitating appropriate bowel movements. Sesame seeds are known to prevent constipation and improve colon health.

Tips –

  • Above recipe is vegan and nuts free. But you can add other things too. 
  • You can add shredded coconut, nuts, extra salt, sugar, lemon, etc.. to the above mixture and then roast everything together.
