Vada Pav Chutney / Chili – Garlic dry (powdered) chutney

Chili – Garlic dry red chutney is scrumptious and is must have for making Vada Pav (Indian burger). Vada Pav is the well known and commonly eaten burger in India. It is a famous Indian street food mainly eaten in state of Maharashtra (India). Today it is loved all over India. Besides Vada Pav, this chili – garlic dry chutney can also be used to make different kind of burgers, sandwiches, salads, appetizers, and flat breads.

Chili – Garlic powdered chutney is made from desiccated coconut, sesame seeds, garlic cloves, and dried red chilies or red chili powder. Peanuts are usually added in this chutney too, but peanut nut free chutney tastes just as delicious. You can find both peanut free and with peanut recipes in this article. I have tried both the chutneys and they both taste equally delicious.

Desiccated coconut provides extremely delicious nutty flavor, peanuts (optional) provide a crunch, sesame seeds and garlic provides amazing fragrance and taste, and red chili powder provides the spicy flavor to this chutney. I generally use Kashmiri red chili powder to make this chutney. Kashmiri red chili powder is less spicy and provides beautiful color to the chutney. If you love spicy you can use any type of dry red chili or red chili powder of your choice to make this chutney.

This chutney goes well with different kinds of burgers, sandwiches, appetizers, marinade, and flat bread. You can add it to black bean burger, vegan patty burger, samosa burger, thepalas (spicy Indian flat bread), you can sprinkle them on dhoklas, sandwiches, French fries, stir fried potatoes, stir fried cauliflowers, stir fried cabbage, Indian veggies, curries, lentils, and so on. Try adding it to the stir-fried vegetables and add them to your salad. Salads will taste extremely delicious. You can also marinade your choice of vegetables, cheese, paneer, or any nuggets in this flavorful chutney and bake them or fry them. This dry chutney enhances the flavor of your food.
