Sugar Cookies – Eggless Recipe

They are easy to make, perfect for people with sweet tooth, and it satisfies ones’ sudden sugar cravings.
This recipe of sugar cookies is very easy and quick. Cookies made with this recipe are delicious, scrumptious, and perfect combination of soft yet crisp. This recipe is perfect for everyone. If you are allergic to eggs, have eggs sensitivity, or you are vegan / vegetarian this is a perfect recipe to make super delectable sugar cookies.
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 – 12 minutes
Makes about 20 – 24 cookies
Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cup of sifted all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/2 cup or 1 stick of unsalted butter (room temperature)
- 4 tablespoon of apple sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract or a pinch of cinnamon powder
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
Directions
- Preheat the oven at 350 F or around 175 C .
- In a big bowl take one stick or half cup of unsalted butter (room temperature).
- Add 1/2 cup of powdered sugar to the butter in a big bowl and whisk it well.
- The wet mixture is partially ready when the sugar is well dissolved in the butter.
- Add 4 table spoons of apple sauce to this mixture. Whip it well.
- Now the wet mixture is ready.
- In a separate bowl, take 1 3/4 cup of sifted all purpose flour.
- Add 1 teaspoon of baking powder to the flour.
- Further add 1/4 teaspoon of salt to dry ingredients.
- Add a pinch of cinnamon.
- Mix all the dry ingredients really well.
- Now transfer the dry ingredients to well blended and whisked wet ingredients.
- Knead the dough really well.
- The consistency of the dough will be very soft.
- Line a baking tray with baking sheet or parchment paper.
- Make small soft balls from the dough and put them at least 3 inches apart on the baking tray.
- Bake these cookies in the oven at 350 F or 175 C for 10 – 12 minutes. Or until the cookies are light golden in color.
- Take the baking tray out of the oven.
- Let the hot cookies be in the baking tray for 2 -3 minutes.
- Then transfer them to the cooling rack. Let them cool for at least 15 minutes.
- Once the cookies are cool enough, they are ready to eat.
- Eat these cookies as it is, or decorate them with icing and sprinkles of your choice.

Tips
- Add a fist full of chocolate chips to the dough before kneading, to make chocolate chip cookies.
- Add your choice of candies, mint, etc.. to make candy flavored cookies.
- If you are not allergic to eggs, then you can add one egg instead of 4 tablespoon of apple sauce while mixing the wet ingredients.
